There were 36 book in total in the Key Words reading scheme – the Peter and Jane books. Each of 12 levels was divided into three: a, b and c. The ‘a’ books introduced new vocabularly which was reinforced in the ‘b’ books while the ‘c’ books tended to focus on writing, spelling and phonics. Book 12c The Open Door to REading was first published in 1967 but then revised and re-illustrated in the 1970s. It was written by William Murray and illustrated by Harry Wingfield.
This matt copy is the revised 1970s version. It is in good condition. The cover has a bit of a ripple to it – as you can see in the photo – but has nice clean pages. The book has an original price of 60p on the back.
