Peter and Jane 4b 1960s (pen marks)

£2.00

There were 36 book in total in the Key Words reading scheme – the Peter and Jane books.  Each of 12 levels was divided into three: a, b and c.  The ‘a’ books introduced new vocabularly which was reinforced in the ‘b’ books while the ‘c’ books tended to focus on writing, spelling and phonics.  Book 4b Fun at the Farm was first published in 1965.  It was written by William Murray and illustrated by Harry Wingfield.

This matt copy is the original 1960s version which has some minor pen marks to the cover, front endpapers and one text page.  The minor pen marks on the cover are very inconspicuous – see the key logo bottom left.   On the endpapers they are more noticeable (see photo) but I’ve just noticed that there are also some similar marks to one of the text pages.  A pity because otherwise there’s not much wear, and clean pages although there is also a mark on the back cover.  It dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
