The Customs Offier, 1972 was the 18th book to be issued in series 606b. It was written by Max Dunstone and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry. This book contains some lovely, evocative images of a world with a very different outlook – where the big smuggling concerns of the day were personified by the gentleman with wrist watches pinned inside his jacket or extra pairs of contraband silk stockings in his luggage. Today, this is relatively hard-to-find title.
