The Policeman, Series 606b (DJ)

The Policeman 1962 was the 2nd book to be issued in series 606b.  It was written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry.  This is a beautiful, evocative book which shows Britain very much in the spirit of ‘Dixon of Dock Green’.  It was revised in 1972 to update it and it’s interesting to browse both original and revised version side by side and to note the different ideas of police equipment, police vehicles and what a villain probably looks like.

This copy still has its original DJ which has not been price-clipped.  Both book and DJ are in very good condition – light to average wear to the DJ edges, nice clean pages.  The last title listed on the back DJ flap, I believe this to be a first edition.
